Welcome to the Cecil Lacrosse League Home Page

The Cecil Lacrosse League is a recreational league for boys and girls, ages 7 - 14, and provides early introduction of lacrosse skills for boys & girls, ages 5 & 6.

The Cecil Lacrosse League is an independant, non-profit organization, working in cooperation with the Cecil County Department of Parks and Recreation.  The Cecil Lacrosse League is a member of the Delaware Lacrosse Foundation, a regional chapter of US Lacrosse.

**** 2009 WINTER LACROSSE SESSIONS ****

I. Winter Skills Sessions (click here for registration form)

Program: These sessions will be geared towards returning players, and those with a good foundation of lacrosse skills. Each session will last 1 hour, and will provide fast-paced instruction during the first half-hour, and small-sided games during the second half-hour.

Where: Cecil Arena (formerly Sonic Sports)

Dates: 7 consecutive Sundays, from January 4 – February 15, 2009

Time(s): Varied based on age group (see registration form)

Cost: $60.00/player

II. Introductory Lacrosse Clinics (click here for registration form)

Program: This one day clinic will be broken up into sessions geared towards players with little or no experience.  Each session throughout the day will offer age appropriate training and instruction, focused on building a basic knowledge and love of the game.

Where: Cecil Arena (formerly Sonic Sports)

Date: Sunday, February 22, 2009

Time(s): Varied based on age group (see registration form)

Cost: $15.00/player

III. Free Coaches Clinic (click here for registration form)

Program: This two hour session will be geared toward both current and aspiring boy’s and girl’s coaches, and will focus on the building blocks for coaching youth lacrosse.

Where: Cecil Arena (formerly Sonic Sports)

Date: Sunday, February 22, 2009

Time(s): 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Cost: FREE

REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 15, 2008.  PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT!

ONLY 12 MORE WEEKS UNTIL THE 1ST PRACTICE!

2009 US LACROSSE CONVENTION

The 2009 US Lacrosse Convention will be held in Baltimore this year.

The convention provides a great opportunity for learning about the sport, whether as a coach or a player.  Registrations for this year's convention will open on Septemeber 15, 2009.

"Coach's Special" being sponsored by the Delaware Lacrosse Foundation.
The Delaware Lacrosse Foundation will reimburse any Cecil Lacrosse League youth coach that completes the U.S. Lacrosse Level I web Certification program along with attending the live Level I Certification program

Just show receipts and proof of completion and the DLF will reimburse coaches for both the Level I on line and In Person programs. Reimbursement will be for completion of both programs. Each individual will have to pay for the U.S. Lacrosse membership themselves. For more information on the US Lacrosse Education Programs go to www.lacrosse.org/cep/



Please Note The Following League Information

Boys

The Boys Division is a competitive division, participating in the Delaware Youth Lacrosse Association (DYLA).  Divisions will be created based on the total number of registrations received for each appropriate age group.  Players will be allowed to move up one division level, if deemed appropriate by both the parent/guardian, and the league.  Players will not be allowed to play down.

Girls

The Girls Division is a competitive division participating in the Delaware Youth Lacrosse Association (DYLA).  Divisions will be created based on the total number of registrations received for each appropriate age group, and may be combined due to limited number of participants.  Players will be allowed to move up one division level, if deemed appropriate by both the parent/guardian, and the league.  Players will not be allowed to play down.
